Did watching Palm Royale turn me into a prep? Let's not get crazy, but I will say it sent me on a hunt for the perfect Lilly Pulitzer dress. The show is set in the '60s, an era I don't usually feel a connection to, as I've always preferred the styles from the '50s, some elements from the '70s, and of course, the '80s. However, watching the show made me appreciate that period in a new light. I was intrigued by some of the fashion, hairstyles, and overall aesthetic. So, of course, I began looking into ways to integrate that style into my wardrobe. It was harder than you might think; I didn't want the Lilly of today (which, in my opinion, pales in comparison); I wanted the old-school Lilly. In my opinion, Lilly Pulitzer (the company) missed an opportunity. They should have done a capsule collection that came out before summer, bringing back fabrics, prints, and styles from that magnificent era. I found ONE dress that could possibly pass as a nod to the fashions of glorious Palm Royale :)
