We recently moved out of the home we shared with our five children throughout their teenage years. With 2 girls and 3 boys, the house was the quintessential clubhouse, with friends coming and going at all times. Needless to say, there was always an element of chaos, and it was hard for me to keep a handle on the house. Over the ten years we lived there, we accumulated A LOT of stuff. Now that the kids are well into their 20s, it was time to move on. What on earth was I going to do with all that stuff? The kids were tasked with taking whatever they wanted, and the rest was either donated or thrown in the giant dumpster. It was beyond cathartic!
I wanted the new house to make sense; the days of mismatched dishes were over. So, who do I know that is meticulous about their home? That would be my mother. I didn't have to search long and hard for everyday china; I just looked at what she had. I am beyond thrilled with my Juliska collection. I went with the Le Panier collection; my mom has the Berry and Thread collection. There are honestly no bad choices. You might think I'm crazy, but I find it quite indulgent to open the cabinet in the morning and see all the matching pieces neatly lined up. It's the little things that can just brighten your day, don't you think?
