Fall happens to be my absolute favorite in terms of clothing and weather. You get to move on from your flimsy summer wardrobe and start layering up. With layering comes dimension, mixing of textures, and more ability to play with your style. Fall (and Winter) fashion is just more interesting to me. I'm going to get right to the point and give a few things to consider for fall. All three of these happen to be on trend, but they also stand the test of time, no doubt.

Burgundy is making a big splash this season. You don't have to go crazy with it unless, of course, you love it. I think it looks gorgeous in leather or fluffy fur. I love how it goes with black, charcoal, and navy blue. I usually really love a piece that can work across the board. It feels wasteful to me if I can only wear something one way. I think you'll be pulling your burgundy pieces to go with your grey slacks, your leather skirt, your favorite jeans and beyond.

Leopard print is having a moment! The concept of leopard as a super sophisticated print may escape some people, especially when you see it used very badly to conjure up an image of a specific type of woman like in The Sopranos, just as an example. But listen to any fashion icon or maven, and they will tell you they think of leopard as a staple, a basic, and a neutral. Once I understood that approach, I was in for the long haul. I mean, my mother is 82 and wears the most glorious Dolce & Gabbana leopard sweater set. She's a conservative dresser, but she also understands when a top designer has leopard in the collection she trusts it. She pairs it with beautifully tailored slacks, some cool flats and boom, it's fabulous.

Grey pinstripe shows its pretty face every year around this time. It's such a rich look; every year I'm searching for more of it. Probably because I see the million ways I can style it. I prefer grey pinstripe to black and white; I just think it's less aggressive and mixes with so much more. It's not always about following the trends to a tee; it's about what you do with the pieces. I have casual pieces, and I'm always looking for a way to elevate them. I love the idea of a coat or a jacket because it not only completes the look but also opens up the opportunity to dress up a pair of jeans or slouchy cargo pants. I really love it when an outfit is unexpected but totally perfect at the same time. Nothing can hold my attention more than when I'm watching how women in Paris style their everyday clothes walking around the city. It's easily my favorite people watching city.

Alright girls, just a little post to share some of my favorites so far. XO
